TRANSITIONAL BEDS FOR YOUTH

(within the 2 Columbus House Buildings)

The Guest House offers crisis beds for youth (not emergency or shelter beds). An Intake is required but can be completed within two days (Monday-Friday). Staff will connect the youth with YWHO services, employment and/or education program (if they wish) and assist with court processes. The goal is to assist the youth to find more permanent living accommodations in the near future.

Criteria

. Primary Worker (if you have one) to be available to attend the intake meeting

. Can live cohesively with other youth

. Can function in day to day life without requiring a one to one worker

. Resides or has connections within Renfrew County

. Willing to sign a social contract to reside at the Guest House

. Experiencing Homelessness or at risk of homelessness

. Current living environment is unsafe

. Willing to work towards Independent living through transitional support

. Willing to attend meetings with professionals within the community if needed

. Able to participate in programs within the community (groups)

. Assessments have been completed and can be shared

. Open to therapeutic programs (ie. Rehab, Healing Lodges, etc.)
